“Passport” Provides Access, Enhanced Communication and More

Partners is taking yet another step to make its services more patient-friendly
as it introduces a new Partners Passport Program. The “passport” will
soon streamline registration at physicians’ offices and follow-up care within
the system, provide the option of personalizing the card with emergency medical
information, and provide the ability to obtain services previously available only
via the telephone.
Beginning this October through April 2005, 10,000 patients at BWH’s Primary
Care Associates of Norwood and Newton-Wellesley Family Medicine of Walpole will
be enrolled in a Passport pilot program. The pilot will assess the program’s
patient and physician usability as well as options for improvement.
“The Partners Passport focuses on improving access and service for our
patients,” said Mary Finlay, Partners deputy chief information officer.
