Urgent Care Center Opens at Foxborough

The Chamber of Commerce joins staff of BWH’s Urgent Care Center at Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place.
BWH opened the doors of its new Urgent Care Center at Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place in September. For patients seeking unscheduled treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, the center provides an efficient alternative to hospital emergency departments, which often have long waits for such conditions.
“This center fills a niche between scheduled appointments with your primary care physician and true emergency care,” said Christopher Baugh, MD, medical director of the Urgent Care Center. “You wouldn’t call 911 for the type of conditions and illnesses we treat at our urgent care center, but they do have a profound impact on the way you feel.”
The center is available to patients who seek treatment including evaluation and management of common illnesses, such as headache, flu, ear infections and urinary tract infections, as well as laceration repair and IV therapy for nausea or dehydration. The center is staffed by BWH physicians, as well as nurses, medical assistants and support staff.
Designed to accommodate multiple patients and minimize wait times, the Urgent Care Center features eight bays, including two private treatment rooms, and a small waiting area.
“Patients who come here will receive prompt and compassionate care from our highly skilled team in a beautiful setting,” said Ron Walls, MD, chair of Emergency Medicine. “We’re able to deliver urgent care closer to home in a cost-effective way, with the appropriate level of intervention.”
