Sheila Harris |
Sheila Harris, director of Patient Access Services for BWH since December 2010, has been promoted to executive director of Patient Access Services for BWH and BWFH. In this role, she will also oversee the implementation of eCare for BWHC Patient Access. Harris began her career in Admitting at BWH and was assistant director of BWH Patient Access Services, overseeing day-to-day operations of Admitting and the Pre-admitting Test Center, from 1992-1998. She left BWH for 12 years to work in health care information technology, where she was a senior account executive overseeing client implementations of patient access, revenue cycle and clinical applications.
Harris succeeds Chris Collins as executive director. Collins, who has dedicated her career to our mission and our patients, will focus her considerable talents and energy on new program development in collaboration with Stan Ashley, MD, BWH chief medical officer, and the Development Office.
Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization
Karen Sax Mcloughlin, BWPO director of Medical Management, left BWH earlier this month to become executive director of the Health Provider Services Organization (HPSO) of the South Shore. In her new role at South Shore, Sax Mcloughlin is responsible for leading the implementation of their clinical integration strategy and ensuring that South Shore Hospital and its physicians come together to provide coordinated, efficient health care to the South Shore community.
BWFH Anesthesia
David Shaff, MD, has accepted the position of chief of Anesthesia at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. He will assume his new role on July 1, 2013, but will be available for transition planning as of May 1.
Shaff has been with Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, as a member of the Anesthesia Department for nine years. For the past six years, he has served as head of the Perioperative Echocardiography program there and as a leader within the Cardiac Anesthesia program. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. After completing his Anesthesia residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, he served an additional year there as chief fellow in Cardiac Anesthesia.
