BWH Walkers Fight Heart Disease, Stroke

Team Brigham and Women's/Faulkner Hospital joined 58 other teams on the Charles River Esplanade for a one-, three- or six-mile walk, refreshments and activities at the American Heart Association Boston Heart Walk on Sept. 17. BWH fielded a team of 397 walkers who collectively raised more than $142,000, surpassing the team goal of $110,000.
Under the leadership of Boston Heart Walk Chairman and BWH President Gary Gottlieb and bolstered by the steadfast spirit of the BWH community, BWH assembled Boston's largest team of walkers and raised the most money for the AHA, an organization that currently funds $7.5 million worth of research grants at BWH.
