Grateful family thanks MICU staff for patient care

More than a dozen family members of the late Dee Deleidi returned to the Tower last month to thank the dedicated MICU staff who cared for their loved one for decades. Deleidi, who died last year, suffered from polio, and she was in and out of an iron lung and the MICU on 9C for more than 20 years. “She was a special lady who always remembered everyone's family. She was family for many of us,” said Barbara O'Donnell, RN, 9C.
Claire Hurst, Deleidi's cousin who shared with her a sister-like relationship, presented the MICU with an original painting to hang in the newly renovated MICU which is slated to open this spring on Tower 3. “Remember that Dee's spirit and courage will always be with us,” Hurst said.
