Kanan to Present Posters in Spain
Angela Roddy Kanan, RN, BSN, CNOR, nurse in charge of Magnetic Resonance Therapy at BWH, recently had two posters accepted by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses for its 2005 World Conference in Spain this September.
Kanan will present one poster on intra-operative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) safety. “The concept of using MRI to guide surgery started here at BWH, but has caught on around the world,” she said. “Using intra-operative MRI comes with many challenges and considerations for both patients and staff.” Her second poster addresses MR-guided cryotherapy, another BWH-pioneered procedure which allows radiologists to treat cancer minimally invasively.
