The BWH Co-ed Basketball League recently completed its seventh season, and Pharmacy's Medicine Men dispensed all comers, finishing with an errorless 10-win regular season, a second straight championship title, and fourth in six years.
The Security Enforcers placed second during the regular season with nine wins and one loss. In the title game, Pharmacy played a steady game and held up against Security's comeback attempts, winning the game, 76 to 56. Medicine Men's Jamal Cinelli carried the team with 32 points, and other key players included Greg Gooding, Chris Adams, PharmD, Brooke Sylvain and Edward "Buzzy" Calhoun.
The Enforcers' Hilarie Cranmer, MD, led all female scorers during the championship game.
In addition to Pharmacy and Security, this season's league entries included the House Staff Cutters, Materials Management Wolfpac, the CDIC Cella Dwellaz and one interdepartmental team, the Stragglers. Faulkner Hospital also contended with the Flyers. All games were played at Basketball City in Boston.
The playoffs kicked off with the sixth seed Stragglers defeating the third seed Materials Management team. Also in the first round, Faulkner defeated CDIC. In the semifinals, Security beat the Stragglers, 88 to 44, and Pharmacy defeated Faulkner, 77 to 41.
