Obituary
Ms. Medina, 27, had worked for three years at SJPHC, where her colleagues remember her bright smile and the kindness she always extended to patients and staff. "Juanita was an important part of our SJPHC family," said Tom Kieffer, executive director of SJPHC. "Losing her suddenly has been a huge blow to all of us—both our patients and staff. She will be missed."
Maggie Pagan, a friend and co-worker of Ms. Medina, said, "Her jokes and bright smile are things that will stay close to our hearts."
Ms. Medina is survived by her son, Isaac Dominguez; her mother, Juanita Malave; and four sisters, Emely, Jessica, Natali and Nancy Gonzalez.
A wake for Ms. Medina and Mr. Dominguez will be held today, 5 to 10 p.m. at John P. Hearn Funeral Home, 43 Cummins Highway, Roslindale. The burial is Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, and a funeral procession will depart at 10 a.m. for St. Michael's Cemetery in Roslindale.
A trust fund has been set up for Ms. Medina's son, Isaac, at the Medical Area Federal Credit Union. Donations may be sent to MAFCU, c/o Isaac Isaiah Dominguez Fund, 221 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA, 02115. Or, visit www.medareafcu.org to make a contribution online.
