What had Neil Bhattacharyya, MD, dressed as Superman, Mari Kim Bunnell, MD, donning blue and white gingham as Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz,” and Faulkner’s Norman Sadowsky, MD, sporting a handlebar mustache as Koerner from “The Perils of Pauline”?
It could only be the 10th annual Partners Night at the Pops: A Celebration in Honor of Our Physicians, held last month at Symphony Hall.
Bhattacharyya, Bunnell and Sadowsky were among 10 Partners physicians making their big-screen debut at the event. Thanks to the magic of modern video technology, the physicians took the place of actors in “The Perils of Pauline,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” and “Superman.” The Boston Pops Orchestra played a musical score from each film as the video was projected on stage at Symphony Hall.
At the video’s conclusion, Bhattacharyya, Bunnell, Sadowsky and the rest of this year’s talent were introduced to the more than 1,700 physicians and guests in attendance and interviewed on stage by Maestro Keith Lockhart.
John Hancock generously sponsored the annual Physician Night at the Pops.
