This year’s open enrollment period begins Monday, Oct. 29, and ends Sunday, Nov. 18. Open enrollment is the only time of the year when employees can make changes to their benefits, unless they have a qualified change of status event. Changes made during open enrollment take effect in January.
An open enrollment package that includes employees’ Personal Benefits Summary, newsletter and medical plan comparison charts is being mailed to employees’ homes. If you do not receive the packet during the last week of October, call the Benefits Office at 617-726-8133.
Beginning Oct. 29, employees can enroll online with eBenefits, a component of PeopleSoft’s Employee Self Service module. Instructions for eBenefits are included in the open enrollment packet. Access eBenefits at https://ibridge.partners.org/
If you don’t have a computer, you can use one with eBenefits access at the Partners Benefits Office, 101 Merrimac Street, 5th floor, or check with your HR consultant. Professional Staff can access eBenefits at the Professional Staff Benefits Office.
Note: Enrollment by phone is not available this year.
2008 Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) Contribution Limits
The maximum amount that employees can contribute to their TSA(s) in 2008 is the same as last year. Employees under age 50 can contribute up to $15,500 to their TSA(s) in 2008. Those age 50 or older can contribute up to $20,500.
New Extended Dependent Coverage and Students Verification Procedure
If you have a dependent child age 19-26 who is a full-time student, and you are continuing coverage or adding the child to your medical, dental, or vision coverage, you must submit an Over-Age Dependent Verification Form to the Benefits Office during open enrollment. See the form and instructions in your open enrollment package. In some cases, you may be able to add or continue an over-age dependent child to your insurance, even if he or she is not a full-time student.
