Jacalyn Shelton Wallace, MEd, MA, began as administrative director for the Office for Multicultural Faculty Careers (OMC) last month. The OMC is one of the three offices within the Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (CFDD) which also includes the Office for Research Careers and the Office for Women’s Careers.
Wallace provides administrative leadership for the OMC’s programs and activities in support of the recruitment, retention, advancement and career satisfaction of underrepresented minority faculty and trainees at BWH.
“I’m excited for this opportunity and hopeful that my years of experience will help maintain the work OMC has done since its inception,” said Wallace.
Wallace comes to BWH with leadership experience in both private and non-profit sectors, including senior positions at the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts and most recently as vice president of programs at Thompson Island Outward Bound.
She holds a master of education in human resources education from Boston University and a master’s in counseling from Michigan State University.
“Her background in educational program management, career counseling and strategic diversity planning and recruiting provide the OMC with a wealth of creativity and leadership,” said Audrey Haas, executive director for CFDD.
