The BWH Tobacco Treatment Program is spreading the benefits of quitting smoking during this weekend’s 9th Annual Deaf Community Health Fair hosted by the DEAF, Inc.’s Project HOPE.
During the fair, program counselors Mary Pat Johnston, Kate Kooperman and Cara Weber will provide tips and resources on how to quit smoking and live a healthier life.
During the speaker portion of the fair, Weber will present “How Quitting Smoking Today Transforms Tomorrow,” about the history of tobacco use and trends, the benefits of quitting and evidence-based quit stratagies. She also will answer questions from the audience.
In addition to the BWH Tobacco Treatment Program, other organizations will offer services including free health screenings. The fair is Sunday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Northeastern University’s Behrakis Health Sciences Center.
