For the 2010-2011 academic year (October through June), Quality Rounds will be held from noon–1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month in the Bornstein Amphitheater. In addition to the new time and location, Quality Rounds also will be available through real time live streaming video to the desktop of any Partners computer.
The new venue makes its debut Oct. 6, when speaker Gary L. Gottlieb, MD, MBA, president and CEO of Partners HealthCare, presents “The Case for Change in an Era of Health Care Reform.”
“Quality Rounds has been a draw for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, administrators and staff at BWH, and we’re excited to be able to reach an even larger audience via live streaming,” said Michael Gustafson, MD, MBA, senior vice president of the Center for Clinical Excellence. “We would especially like to thank the Department of Educational Technologies for allowing us the opportunity to deliver Quality Rounds online through its new video streaming infrastructure.”
Over the past year, the Department of Educational Technologies worked with multiple internal groups at the hospital and across the Partners network to implement live streaming and provide online educational programming for providers and patients.
“We’ve worked with many departments throughout BWH to build the infrastructure, leverage our existing technologies and bring this service to the hospital,” said Erlyn Ordinario, MA, project lead/specialist for the Department of Educational Technologies. “We are very grateful for their help and support in making this happen.”
Archived videos of the Quality Rounds presentations, information about how to view Quality Rounds from your desktop and a complete schedule of upcoming Quality Rounds are available online at BWHPikeNotes.org/Employee_Resources under the “training” tab.
