Last year, BWH implemented an Employee Hardship Assistance Program to provide financial counseling and assistance to eligible employees experiencing economic hardship due to a temporary, unforeseen or emergent personal financial crisis. Throughout the month of November, patients, families and staff can enter the names of loved ones who have passed away in the Book of Remembrance, available in the Chapel on Tower 1. Your loved ones will be remembered each day at the noon worship service in the Chapel. For more information, call Chaplaincy Services at 617-732-7480.

Participate in “Breathe Easy: What you should know about lung cancer,” a webinar about prevention, causes and living smoke-free, Nov. 18, 6:30 p.m., presented by Yolonda Colson, MD, PhD, Francine Jacobson, MD, MPH, and JoAnne Foody, MD. Also, BWH hosts a series of events during the Great American Smokeout, Nov. 18, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Stop by the lobbies at 45 and 75 Francis St., the Shapiro Bridge and at 850 Boylston St. to get information and advice from BWH physicians on how to quit smoking. Staff will be on hand to perform oral cancer screenings
Influenza vaccines are available at the OHS Neville Clinic, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; employees can also receive their annual TB tests at the same time at Neville House. Employees have an opportunity to also be vaccinated against the seasonal flu at the Patient Flu Clinic through Nov. 19, on the Shapiro Center’s first floor, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Off-site clinics are scheduled throughout the distributed campus.
