BWH, Faulkner Radiology Department Integration
BWH and Faulkner Hospital have reached another milestone in the evolving relationship between the two institutions. The hospitals are scheduled to complete radiology integration efforts in January 2003. As of this date, radiology professional services at both institutions will be provided by a single entity, the Brigham and Women’s Physician Organization’s (BWPO) Radiology Department.
“We have been working on plans for this integration for several years and are gratified that we have achieved this outcome for the benefit of patients, referring physicians and radiologists,” said Steven Seltzer, MD, chairman, BWH and BWPO Radiology Department.
Members of Faulkner Radiology Associates, who have provided radiology professional services at Faulkner for more than 35 years, will become members of the ‘Faulkner Division’ of BWPO Radiology.
“We will be able to provide our patients with the ‘best of both worlds’, that is, the efficiency and responsiveness that would characterize a community radiology practice, and the subspecialty expertise of an academic practice,” said Norman Sadowsky, MD, chief of the Faulkner Division of the integrated department.
