BluePrint Recap: Time Capsule Tuesday and Brigham Bash

In May, BWH staff celebrated the hospital's history of transforming the future at two exciting events: Time Capsule Tuesday and the Brigham Bash.

During Time Capsule Tuesday, BWH leaders shared their reflections on letters sealed in the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital time capsule in 1963. If you missed the event, you can watch it in its entirety here.

Two days after Time Capsule Tuesday, staff gathered for a 60s-themed celebration at The Park Plaza Castle. Originally planned as a fundraiser, the event shifted its focus to honor all BWHers who played a role in the hospital's response to the Boston Marathon bombing. Opened to all BWHers free of charge, the event featured inspirational speeches by BWH President Betsy Nabel, MD, Governor Deval Patrick and bombing survivor Jarrod Clowery, who was treated at BWH.

"When I found out I could thank a thousand people at once I had to be here," Clowery told NECN during the event. "These people never get enough credit."

To BWHers at the event, he said: "You all operated flawlessly in the Super Bowl of your profession."

BWHers gather in Bornstein Amphitheater to hear letters from our hospital's predecessors and reflections and predictions from BWH's current leaders. Later, attendees enjoy the Time Capsule Tuesday cake, the largest in BWH history, and an exhibit of historic hospital artifacts.
