Faulkner Tapped as Primary Stroke Center
Relocated Rehab Helps Patients Breathe Easier
In line with Brigham and Women's/Faulkner Hospitals' (BW/F) strategy to better deliver the right care in the most appropriate location, BWH's non-acute Pulmonary Rehabilitation program now is offered on Faulkner's campus. The program celebrated its new first-floor location with an open house last month.
Patients still experience the same comprehensive education, exercise instruction and strength training from the same highly qualified respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists, except now, they do so in an improved and more convenient setting.
Patients involved in the rehabilitation program often are required to attend sessions three times a week. According to John J. Reilly, MD, medical director, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the Faulkner location is very conducive for them to more easily complete the 18-session program and carry out the necessary follow-up exercise regimen. He adds, “The collaborative efforts of BWH and Faulkner staff have brought about a smooth transition for our many patients.”
The new number for BWH Pulmonary Rehabilitation is 617-983-7549.
