Fraser, Swenson Join the ACD Project Team

Paulette Fraser and Mary Swenson
The Center for Nursing Excellence added two members to its Nursing Informatics team for the Acute Care Documentation (ACD) project. In January, Paulette Fraser MS, RN, BC, joined as program director and Mary Swenson MBA, RN, as project manager. Both are working on the Partners-wide ACD project, an electronic platform that will enable multiple caregivers to access the patient record, including flowsheets, assessments and notes.
“Both Paulette and Mary bring a broad range of clinical, informatics and project management experience to our ACD team,” said Denise Goldsmith, MS, MPH, RN, director of Nursing Informatics in the Center for Nursing Excellence. “They will join an interdisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, HIM and IS professionals who are working to bring the best possible electronic documentation solution to the BWH.”
As ACD program manager, Fraser handles the day to day management of the BWH ACD project plan for Patient Care Services. She is a board certified informatics nurse with many years of experience in clinical system implementation. She has held roles such as nursing informatics specialist, clinical documentation process specialist and, most recently, she was senior consultant/manager for a health care information technology consulting firm. She holds a master of science degree in nursing administration, with a focus in nursing informatics, from the University of New Hampshire.
As ACD project manager, Swenson is responsible for the coordination of all ACD project activities that relate to allied health professionals and social work. Most recently, Swenson held the position of clinical informatics specialist for health care applications at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where she worked with an interdisciplinary team to build and implement a clinical documentation system. Prior to that, she was a clinical information systems consultant responsible for developing and executing training for electronic health record and order management applications. She received her master’s degree in business administration at the Boston College Graduate School of Management.
