Brigham Dermatology Associates and Laser Center recently started the Aesthetic Dermatology Program to add cosmetic services to Brigham’s Dermatology Department.Directed by Leslie Lucchina, MD, the Aesthetic Dermatology Program treats telagiectasias and lentigines, removes tattoos and unwanted hair and performs chemical peels, collagen injections, botax injections, sclera therapy for spiderveins and skin care. These services were not available at the Brigham until Chief of Dermatology Thomas Kupper, MD, and Director of Clinical Dermatology Harley A. Haines, MD, launched the program.
As research into the field proved that laser treatment was safe and effective, Kupper and Haines were interested in starting an Aesthetic Dermatology program at the Brigham. When Lucchina was hired in October, her background in laser treatment of superficial scars, hair removal and spider veins made her the natural choice for Director of the Aesthetic Dermatology Program.
Located within the Dermatology Department along the Main Pike, the Aesthetic Dermatology Program has been running since October. On Feb. 7, 12- 4 p.m., physicians are invited to attend an Open House and find out more about the Aesthetic Dermatology Program.
