Bell Wins Northeastern University’s Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award
Kathleen Bell, BSN, RN, won the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award in the Tutor/Office Hours Category from Northeastern University. She received the award at a ceremony on April 12, at Northeastern. Bell is a full-time teaching assistant at Northeastern, working with undergraduate freshmen and sophomore nursing students. She was nominated by one of her students and then selected by a committee to receive the award, after their careful review of her portfolio, detailing her teaching philosophy, teaching guides, class plans, samples of graded homework and student evaluations.
Bell received her BSN from Northeastern University, where she performed one of her co-ops at BWH in1998. After graduating, she joined BWH in 2000 as a staff nurse on 8AB, and after three years she transferred to 8C.
Bell is studying for her master of science degree in Nursing.
