Karen Fiumara, PharmD, BCPS, who has served as patient safety manager for two years, has been promoted to director of Patient Safety in recognition of her effort and skills. Prior to joining the center, Fiumara served as the medication safety officer in the Pharmacy.
Fiumara graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at BWH, and has been at the hospital since 2002.
Jennifer Beloff, MSN, RN, APN-C, was named director of Quality for the Center for Clinical Excellence. She joined the center in 2008 as senior consultant for Quality Programs and has since been instrumental in facilitating the pneumonia care, inpatient vaccination and outpatient surgery quality measurement and improvement programs at BWH.
She also serves as a leader of the CAUTI Task Force to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
Prior to joining BWH, Beloff was a clinical quality specialist at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
She is a nurse practitioner and holds a masters and bachelor’s degrees in science nursing from Pace University.
