BWH Accredited by AAHRPP
BWH has been awarded full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). AAHRPP offers accreditation to organizations that conduct or review research with human participants using a voluntary process based on self-assessment, peer review and education. AAHRPP awarded full accreditation to BWH and Massachusetts General Hospital as part of Partners HealthCare.
Valid for three years, AAHRPP accreditation signifies BWH's national recognition as a research center committed to improving human research protection programs and research quality. “By gaining this benchmark, we have demonstrated that we value research protections. Our research programs and investigators are committed to ensuring the quality of clinical investigation and, most importantly, the well-being of our research participants,” said Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, BWH president.
BWH underwent a rigorous application process for accreditation that included onsite investigator visits to assess and affirm BWH's compliance with federal and local regulations.
