ID Badge Policy
The individual assignment of photo IDs is the foundation for the entire hospital security system. It is the responsibility of all staff to comply and participate in BWH's Security Program by properly wearing his or her own ID badges at all times while on hospital property. Furthermore, ID badges should never be transferred from one person to another. Much like computer passwords, ID badges must be safeguarded when not in use and never shared with others. ID badge sharing provides potential unauthorized access to sensitive areas such as newborn nurseries, ORs and Pharmacy. Badge sharing is a breach of BWH's ID Policy and Confidentiality Agreement.
Connors Center pink badges are assigned only to those who have access to newborns at BWH. If a pink badge is shared or otherwise used improperly, the hospital's Infant Security Program potentially is put at risk.
If you have questions regarding the policy or concerns about an unidentified person, call BWH Security and Parking at ext. 2-6001. Staff are reminded to report any breaches of the policy to their immediate supervisor.
