Vascular Diagnostic Lab Receives Key Reaccreditation
The BWH Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory was reaccreditated by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). The accreditor recognized the lab's commitment to providing a high level of patient care and quality testing for the diagnosis of vascular disease.
The BWH laboratory, which has been accredited for 13 years, is one of a select number of vascular laboratories in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico to meet or exceed the ICAVL standards for noninvasive vascular testing.
“This is an exceptional achievement,” said Marie Gerhard-Herman, MD, MMSc, medical director of the Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory.
“Everyone involved in the Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory- the physicians, sonographers and receptionists-deserves a round of applause because this accreditation is only given to laboratories that have demonstrated high-quality vascular testing.”
During the accreditation process, every aspect of the lab's daily operations and its impact on the quality of health care provided to patients was assessed and reviewed.
