ED Renovations Coming Soon

Renovations of the Emergency Department patient and family waiting area are set to begin next month. A temporary waiting area for ED patients and their families will be constructed outside the ED in the lobby at 75 Francis St. The ED entrance and exits from the hospital will be closed to foot traffic from the first week of July to the first week of August.

Construction on the temporary waiting area will begin July 11, and is projected to include the existing seating outside the ED in the 75 Francis St. lobby with additional space towards the BWH Gift Shop, which will be set off by partitions. The entrance to the Gift Shop will not be affected.

The project, which is primarily an aesthetic enhancement effort for the ED's waiting and triage area, is expected to be complete when the temporary waiting area is removed in early August.
