BWH Recognized for its Connections
For the second straight year, BWH was named among the “Top 10 Connected Health Care Facilities” in the September Health Imaging & IT after the magazine analyzed more than 550 health care facilities in this year’s competition. Winning hospitals demonstrated extensive use of IT for medical imaging. BWH was recognized for its broad and innovative use of Radiology computerized physician order entry (Percipio), departmental and enterprise Picture Archive Communication System (PACS-Centricity), and their integration into the various applications used in our organization such as Longitudinal Medical Record and Emergency Department order entry. Hospitals that made this exclusive list boast significant numbers of referring physicians with access to electronic images.
The magazine cites BWH’s impressive Medical Imaging IT program statistics, including that 90 percent of BWH imaging is filmless, and 90 percent or more of imaging procedures are digital.
“Radiology IT, BWH IS, our industry partners and our network of referring physicians should be proud of this accomplishment for our entire organization,” said Radiology vice chairman Ramin Khorasani, MD.
