Training Suites at the Ledge Provide Ideal Learning Environment

BWH’s commitment to training is evident by the new facilities now available to nursing staff in Nursing Professional Development’s site at One Brigham Circle.
Now available to conduct nursing trainings in are five spacious classrooms designed to create the most efficient learning environment possible for nurses. “The new class space allows us to meet the educational needs of the nursing staff through a variety of programs, orientations, competency sessions and development workshop,” said Charlotte Messinger, nurse educator, Nursing Professional Development.
Each of the rooms is equipped with the latest audiovisual technology. There is a workspace for each Nursing Professional Development Staff with file cabinets to store and retrieve data. A sixth classroom is in the process of being constructed and will contain a ceiling lift, bed and stretcher, emergency equipment, IV pumps and EKG machine. “This will allow us to acquaint new staff with our equipment and gives orientees the opportunity to practice skills away from the bedside,” added Messinger.
