Nursing Leadership Profiles
Behind the Scenes with Mimi O’Connor, Project Manager, Patient
  Care Services
Mimi O’Connor’s mission is to...help nursing staff incorporate
new technology into their jobs. Armed with both teaching and information systems
experience, O’Connor is well positioned to help adult learners become
comfortable with the tools needed to be an effective manager today.
The educator, corporate trainer and information systems analyst is today the
project manager in Patient Care Services. Her students include nurse managers,
supervisors and administrators who benefit from specific training on new systems
and protocols such as the One Staff payroll system.
“Mimi is extremely dedicated and customer service focus is her top priority,’
said Leo F. Buckley, director of Business Services, Patient Care Services. She
builds solid relationships with staff at all levels and her outstanding technical
skills improve the proper implementation of BWH systems. I am proud to have
her as member of my staff,” he added.
A relative newcomer to the health care field, O’Connor is herself a lifelong
learner. “It is exciting to be in a position where I am gaining a better
understanding of the hospital as a whole,” she said. “I see many
opportunities to continue helping our nurses and administrative staff use technology
  to make their jobs easier.”
