Cluett Receives National and Local AORN Awards

OR Nurse Educator Helen Cluett, RN, MSN was the first recipient of the Faces of Caring Award, an honor presented by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) that recognizes individuals nationally for contributions to this field of Nursing.
The award was presented in April at AORN's 52nd Congress in New Orleans. Cluett, who last year received a lifetime achievement award from BWH, was celebrated by AORN for exemplifying the “best of the best in nursing,” said AORN President William J. Duffy.
“Helen received this award from AORN because she has consistently stewarded the organization's belief that because operating rooms are places 'where patients are virtually powerless and unable to make decisions concerning their own welfare at this critical time, they require much more than technical caretakers, they need professional, caring nurses,'” said OR Nursing Director Peggy Doyle, RN, MS.
Cluett also recently received the President's Award from the AORN Massachusetts Chapter 1.
