Gonzalez and Montero Recognized at PCA Award Luncheon

Millagros “Millie” Gonzalez of 12ABC Cardiology was recognized as the 2005 Lead PCA of the Year, and Solanlly Montero of Brookside Community Health Center was recognized as Medical Assistant of the Year at the second annual PCA award luncheon on June 1.
Gonzalez was described in her nominations as “the gold standard.” She is “meticulous” in her work and intuitive to patients' needs, notifying nurses if she suspects a patient is not faring well. In each nomination, nurses praised Gonzalez's rapport with patients and her unceasing willingness to go above and beyond to keep patients comfortable.

In addition, she developed a proactive system for uninsured children with asthma to borrow nebulizers for home treatments.
