There are 39 million people worldwide living with AIDS. The upcoming 20th annual World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 provides an opportunity to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS around the world.
“World AIDS Day provides a global opportunity to urge governments and leaders to keep all promises on AIDS. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate commitment and action,” said Christine Harmon-Tangishaka, director of Infectious Disease.
At BWH, the Division of Infectious Disease and the BWH HIV Program will host a table outside the Cafeteria Friday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., featuring a streaming video, red ribbons and resources on the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Raffle prizes and gift certificates are available.
The BWH HIV Program provides patients with counseling, specialty care and consultation, prenatal care, AIDS clinical trials, HIV vaccine trials, fellowship training, educational programs and more. Find out more about these services at www.brighamandwomens.org/infectiousdisease/
