NERBNA Honors Victoria and Williams
Two BWH nurses were honored by the New England Regional Black Nurses Association (NERBNA) for their leadership and dedication to improving patient care.

Stephanie Victoria, BSN, RN, of Hematology/Oncology, received the NERBNA Award for Excellence in Nursing Leadership. Nominated by Patrice Nicholas, DNSc, DHL (Hon), MPH, MS, RN, ANP, FAAN, director Global Health, Academic Partnerships, Victoria was selected based on her contributions to the care of the multicultural oncology patient population at BWH and her ongoing leadership and volunteerism in her home country of Haiti. She was among the first BWH nurses to travel to Haiti to offer professional nursing care and expertise to those affected by the earthquake on January 12, 2010.

Orline Williams |
Orline Williams, MBA, LPN, of The Jen Center, received the President’s Award for her ongoing and dedicated commitment to NERBNA and its work on behalf of black nurses regionally and nationally and to improving care to African Americans throughout New England. Williams has held various leadership positions in NERBNA, including board member, interim president, secretary and treasurer.
“As a Deparment of Nursing, we are very proud of Stephanie and Orline and congratulate them for their contributions and dedication” said Jackie Somerville, PhD, RN, senior vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer.
BWH colleagues, leaders and friends joined in the celebration on Feb. 10, when Victoria and Williams received their awards at the New England Regional Black Nurses Association Nursing Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Copley Marriott Hotel.
