Nicoletti Retires from BWH

Angela Nicoletti, RNC, MS, retired in June after working for 25 years as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the Adolescent Reproductive Health Service Clinic at BWH.
“Angela provided a consistent plan of care for many of Boston’s most vulnerable young women,” Maureen Fagan, RNP, MS, director of Ambulatory OB Programs, said. “Many of her young patients returned these last few months to thank her personally for providing a rich tapestry of care for them.”
Nicoletti was able to follow many of her patients throughout the duration of her time at BWH and watch them grow. “It’s been a great experience here,” Nicoletti said. “The teens have always been interesting and challenging, and it’s great to see them grow and mature.”
Nicoletti has a number of professional awards and achievements to her credit, including publishing “Your New Baby,” a book for teens about pregnancy. She also is associate editor for the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. During her career, she participated on national committees for ACOG and AWHONN, contributed to many publications and presented research at many conferences and events. Prior to joining BWH in 1981, Nicoletti held positions at the Boston Hospital for Women and the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital among others.
In retirement, Nicoletti plans to obtain certification as a lactation consultant and volunteer as a mentor for the One Family program, which provides support and scholarships for young, homeless women. Nicoletti’s colleagues and friends wished her well at a retirement party in the Cohn Courtyard in June.
An annual Nursing Grand Rounds has been endowed in Nicoletti’s honor each May during Nurse Recognition Month. If you would like to make a donation, write a check payable to BWH Angela Nicoletti Fund and send it to Peggy Tonelli, NP, on CWN-3.
