BWH Launches Internal Communications Audit
BWH this summer launched an internal communications audit to evaluate and find ways to strengthen communications among employees and staff. Staff surveys in recent years have identified hospital-wide communications as needing improvement. In response to this feedback, BWH this summer and fall will invite randomly selected employees and staff across every facet of BWH, clinical leaders, attending physicians and house staff to participate in focus groups as part of this internal communications audit.
“This is in direct response to staff surveys. Overall internal communications is an area where we see the opportunity to improve ,” BWH President Gary Gottlieb said.
The hospital hired Fleishman-Hillard, a firm specializing in communications, to work with hospital leadership and a working committee comprised of representatives from the President’s Office, Support Services, Medical Staff, Nursing and Patient Care Services, Human Resources and Public Affairs.
“This audit will help us improve our hospital-wide and department-specific communications and as an end result will strengthen our sense of community,” Gottlieb said.
