Shen Receives Research Grant from Michael J. Fox Foundation
Jie Shen, PhD, associate professor of Neurology, Center for Neurologic Diseases, received funding for the Progressive, Predictive Animal Models initiative from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Shen was one of seven researchers who received the grant, which totaled $2.6 million. This is her third time receiving the grant.
The initiative allows researchers to work towards developing progressive, predictive mammalian models of Parkinson’s disease to prevent, slow or stop the progression of the disease.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation was founded in 2000 and is dedicated, through its aggressive research agenda, to the further understanding of Parkinson’s disease.
