BWH Receives ASGE Research Grant
BWH received a medical research grant from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the ASGE Foundation. BWH was among seven recipients of nine Outcomes & Effectiveness medical research grants, presented annually to physicians to foster research in gastrointestinal endoscopy, both within and outside of academic centers.
Elena Stoffel, MD, MPH, Gastroenterology, will lead research at BWH and use the grant to direct a study entitled, “Chromoendoscopy for detection of adenomas in patients with Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer.” The study will investigate the use of specialized methodologies for detecting colorectal cancer.
