Tilney Celebrates Transplantation Society Anniversary
The Transplantation Society this month celebrated it 40th anniversary at the World Transplant Congress in Boston. More than 6,000 people internationally were expected to attend. Nicholas Tilney, MD, Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery, president-elect of the society, recognized the anniversary with an article in the June 15 issue of Transplantation entitled “Four Decades of International Cooperation, Innovation, Growth and Progress,” which details the society’s history.
Tilney was elected president of the Transplantation Society in 2004, and his term lasts through 2006.
