Pozner Receives Boston EMS Special Citation
Charles Pozner, MD, medical director of STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation, received the Boston EMS Special Citation at their annual awards ceremony in May. This award recognizes individuals who distinguish themselves through intelligent, extraordinary actions that result in improving emergency medical services, either from a specific incident or through continuous contributions.
Pozner, who also is the director of pre-hospital care for BWH, has been closely involved in EMS for 30 years. He serves as the medical director for the Metropolitan Boston EMS Council, the regional EMS oversight arm of the Department of Public Health. Pozner promotes EMS education through STRATUS and is an investigator in a large AHA sponsored study on the use of simulation education as a means to promote skill retention of EMS providers. Since opening, more than 200 paramedics have attended simulation sessions at STRATUS.
